Make Pretty Sewing Stuff with the Seaside Sisters

Last Thursday night I spent a fun evening with the Seaside Sisters at the Fabulous Fifties event at the Museum of London. Along with crafting, drinking & listening to the amazing band they told me about their latest workshops...

Looking forward to making these on Thursday at Craft Central.

Looking forward to making these on Thursday at Craft Central.

The Seaside Sisters have just launched a whole summer series of crafty workshop events! I’m looking forward to crafting and eating homemade cake at one of them this Thursday at Craft Central.  The super sassy Linda will teach us how to make lovely pin cushion storage jars and haberdashery tapes from recycled materials.

Linda says “These jars make great storage pots for spare buttons and all those little sewing things that find a way of hiding from you when you need them. We will show you how to make them and provide all the materials, just come along and spend a happy evening making some useful and pretty things. Once you have a jar fashioned to your liking, have a go at sewing a sweet little mouse or hedgehog pin cushion. You’ll also be shown how to recycle fabric into bias binding using a special tool, an iron and a little bit of sewing. It’s a great trick to have up your sleeve as bias binding in pretty fabrics can be used to brighten up old clothes, make lovely bunting, wrap up presents or to fashion attractive hair bands and accessories.”

I can’t wait : )

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
– Create pin cushion storage jars
– Sew hedgehog or mouse shaped pin cushions
– Fashion a flower pin cushion
– Make bias binding tape from vintage fabrics

The 3 hours of crafting fun costs £25, from 6.30pm this Thursday 18th August at Craft Central, 33-35 St John’s Square
, London, EC1M 4DS

There are a few tickets left which you can book here.
