The Songbirds: an article featuring Debbie Harry, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Tyler, Kate Bush & More!

Look In was a magazine aimed at young teens based around ITV’s programmes from 1971 through to 1994. Each year an annual would be produced to round up the highlights of the year and this one is from 1978 and features Star Wars, Abba, 50 Years of Mickey Mouse, Debbie Harry, the Fonz, Skateboarding Stars and more. A lovely collection of pristine vintage felt hats!

A lovely collection of pristine vintage felt hats!

I had an exciting find yesterday upon opening a discarded hat box I discovered a collection of five felt hats each in a different beautiful jewel pop colour and all in absolute mint condition. I doubt they’ve ever been worn. They must have belonged to the same lady as they are all exactly the same size except the claret one which is a tad smaller. If you fancy adding a dash of colour and panache to your Winter look then your noggin needs to be a tad smaller than mine and measure 55cm at the point in which you want the hat to sit on your head. If you’re a lucky fit you can choose from emerald green, claret, mustard, midnight blue and violet. If you buy a few then I’ll throw in the fancy boutique hat box!

Dime Store Buddy: Stripey straws, chilly dilly pickle bags & zig zag cutlery.

I can’t remember the keyword search that led me to discover and fall instantly head over heels in rainbow love with the unashamedly colourful and stripey world that is Dime Store Buddy. It’s an Etsy store based in the US, not a bricks and mortar in London. I was disappointed by this fact at first then slowly realised it was probably for the best, otherwise my kitchenette would be stuffed full of things like 50 chilly dilly pickle bags. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad? Continue reading »
