When I worked as a stylist we often rented a Photographer’s warehouse space which doubled as a studio and in the corner hung a rattan chair and the models would sit in it to have their make-up done. I absolutely loved it and finally bought my very own from Spitalfield’s Antiques Market about 8 years ago and it’s my favourite chair in the house. It’s positioned next to a huge window and I snuggle up in it atop a sheepskin rug and underneath a Babycham blanket drinking tea, reading magazines or just staring out of the window and daydreaming.
I thought it might be about time to dip my toe into selling furniture and I’m delighted my first piece for sale is this totally rockin’ 1960s / 1970s hanging chair. Pop it in your tiki inspired living room; next to your ship-shape bar; outdoors on a warm summers day or my favourite next to a large window in a big open space to doze the day away. I’m going to list my furniture pieces on eBay for now, click here to take a peek and check out the SUPER thrifty starting price of just 99p.
we had one of these hanging outside on our porch when i was young. we loved it. wish my parents still had it!
I have been looking for a chair just like this and would love to purchase it if it is still for sale! Be great to hear back from you!
I looooooooove this chair! How much are you selling it for?!
I love how vintage magazines stage photos of these chairs- like your patio is a scene from Jungle Book and this swinging chair transports you to an exotic wonderland. I dig it 😉
Excellent choice for a first furniture listing!
