After yesterday’s candy finds, today’s red and black vintage feels a little bit dark and maybe more in keeping with the time of year especially since the clocks went back on Sunday. My studio has four really large windows that I probably spend far too much time gazing out of, but it’s dark already and it’s not even 5pm. Maybe I’ll get more work done! Continue reading »

The ‘big idea’ behind Thrift-ola is that it should feel like a curated flea market brought to the comfort of your cosy armchair. So whilst you might not have to get up at silly o’clock and trawl through tat to hopefully find some treasure, I still want you to feel the excitement of delving through a wide range of fun and unexpected vintage finds, not knowing what you might discover. I want you to feel the thrill of the thrift but in a much more convenient way. With this in mind, I’m going to change the way I add my finds to the online shoppe for the month of November as a mini experiment. Continue reading »

How it works………

2. If I accept the offer, I’ll let you know and then change the price of the product to what you’d like to pay until the discount period ends.
3. If I don’t accept your offer, I’ll send you a counter offer and the haggle begins.
Make Me An Offer Monday starts NOW until midnight Monday. Go shop!
Please note this is not a weekly offer : )

The trio of latest additions to My Wardrobe are all vintage love worn denim pieces from the 70s, 80s and 90s. It looks like I stole the 1970s high waisted midi length skirt with cute embroidered back pockets straight outta Carly Simon’s wardrobe. I’m pretty sure she would have worn it with tan leather boots and a felt hat. Whereas the 1980s stonewash pencil skirt is surely something a super hot Sunday Girl era Blondie could have turned up the heat wearing. I love this Jem and the Holograms style 1990s denim jacket with pony motif and ‘My Star’ slogan. I think Carly, Blondie and Jem would all be happy to accessorise with this pretty printed cotton scarf with heart and scalloped detailing – the perfect colour pop finishing touch to a vintage denim ensemble.

I’m in a long time love affair with handmade crochet blankets and the super large ones are perfect as bed spreads and the prettiest thing to snuggle under on the sofa. Recently I found a bunch of smaller versions and they too are great for so many things, but this time of year as the seasons change and the chills creep in what better way to use them than as cosy shoulder wraps. When styling this shoot (and wearing one myself) I fasten two of the ends with a hair bobble and if needed cover with a vintage brooch. Alternatively just tie up so it cosies in against your neck or wear open and loose so it falls with more length at the back.
I have just added 8 of them to the online shoppe, check ’em out here!
